Amid the wave of defections rocking the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, all 25 lawmakers elected on the party’s platform in the state House of Assembly have reaffirmed their loyalty to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The lawmakers also dismissed speculations that they were planning to leave the PDP, saying they remain united behind the governor and committed to ensuring his re-election in 2026.
So far, five federal lawmakers from Osun elected on the PDP platform have resigned from the party.
The member representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Oluwole Oke, was the first to resign from PDP.
The resignation of Abimbola Ajilesoro (Ife Central/East/North/South) and Sanya Ominrin (Ijesa South), from the PDP Further fuelled rumours that some state lawmakers might follow suit.
But dispelling the rumour while addressing journalists in Osogbo on Wednesday, the Speaker, Mr. Adewale Egbedun, declared that the 25 lawmakers would not abandon PDP.
