President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new head of the Federal Fire Service. He takes over on 14th August, following the retirement of the current Controller-General, Abdulganiyu Jaji, who steps down at the age of 60.
A statement issued by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board confirmed the appointment on Wednesday, describing Olumode as a seasoned officer who has held key positions, including heading Human Resources at the Service headquarters.
He began his career with the FCT Fire Service before moving to the national level. He’s also attended various professional courses, both in Nigeria and abroad.
Olumode is affiliated with multiple professional organisations, including the Institute of Public Administration and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management.
The Board thanked the outgoing Controller-General for his service and for reforms introduced during his tenure.
