Bournemouth have signed winger Gannon Doak from Liverpool for around £25 million, with the deal including a buy-back clause.

The 19-year-old Scotland international, who has opted to be known as Gannon Doak to honour both parents’ names, agreed a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium. He is expected to replace Luis Sinisterra, who is set to join Brazilian side Cruzeiro on loan.

Doak spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he registered three goals and seven assists in 24 Championship appearances before injury cut his campaign short.

Liverpool, who rejected bids of about £20m from Crystal Palace and Ipswich in January, have now sold eight players this summer for a combined £227.6m, after spending £321m on signings.

Bournemouth, who recently sold Dango Ouattara to Brentford for £42.5m, are also exploring moves for Bayer Leverkusen’s Amine Adli and FC Midtjylland’s Dario Osorio as they reshape their attack.

Doak had interest from Porto, Stuttgart, Bologna, Monaco and several Premier League clubs including West Ham, Everton and Nottingham Forest, but chose Bournemouth in search of regular top-flight football.
