A former member of the House of Representatives for Ekiti North Federal Constituency I, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, has criticised the proposed salary increment for political office holders, describing it as misplaced and insensitive.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with VEONEWS, Hon. Daramola insisted that before any salary adjustment is considered for politicians, the government must first ensure a significant wage increase for at least five times, for military personnel, police officers, medical workers, and teachers, whom he described as the backbone of national development and security.
According to him, prioritising the welfare of these essential service providers is crucial to national growth and stability.
