The Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has vowed to ensure justice for Abdulraheem Abubakar, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU) Zaria, and a postgraduate student at the Nigerian Defence Academy, (NDA) Kaduna, who tragically died in an accident involving Mobile Police personnel.
In a statement released yesterday, Olawande assureD the family, the youth of Kaduna State, and Nigerians at large that the Nigerian Youth Helpdesk, established precisely to address issues where young people face injustice, abuse, neglect, or risk of any kind, WILL investigate and verify what actually transpired.
Report Says The incident took place on August 29. The victim’s brother, Sabiu Mustapha Abubakar, told reporters that the victim was struck on the head by a police officer while riding on the motorcycle.
The family also accused the police of attempting to cover up the incident, claiming instead that the motorcycle collided with a car, a version denied by witnesses.
