President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the recall of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing earlier management changes at the national broadcaster.
This was revealed in a statement today by the President special Adviser, Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Dembos, who was appointed in October 2023, had briefly vacated the position following recent shake-ups within the agency. He is now set to complete his three-year tenure as DG of the NTA.
Similarly, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, appointed in 2024 as Executive Director of News, has also been directed to return to his position to complete his tenure, which is expected to run until 2027.
The directive effectively cancels the previously announced appointments into key positions at the NTA, including those of director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.
