It is thought provoking that those some Nigerians of Eastern ethnicity “look down on” are pluralistic enough to give the Vice Chancellor ship (VC)of their Flagship academic institution to the best hands, and not carry out a political hatchet job in the name of a Vice Chancellorship recruitment exercise that serves to only please local and state political dynamics (see Prof. Ningi’s – a Bauchi State indigene – appt letter as VC ABU Zaria, Kaduna State below).

University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is a NATIONAL institution. To treat it like a tomfoolery of a local people’s whims and caprices (to be vice chancellor) is to cheapen academic rigor and undermine excellence in the nation’s foremost ivory tower east of the Niger.

The joke, unfortunately, is on US – Ndigbo. It is not Abuja, or Kaduna, or Lagos teleguiding and manipulating the election of Vice Chancellor but we ourselves. Vice Chancellorships are not Traditional titles, routinely reserved for deserving locals, but are across the world reserved for men
