After shown with empirical facts of land grabbing in Abuja, the spokesperson to the FCT Minister has resorted to Abuses and evaded the question. The matter centers on a park land that was leased from the Abuja authorities but revoked without explanation.

The FCTA is telling us that the new parks revocation is not a witch hunt but its not true….
For Me personally, we have paid our 2025 ground rent, submitted our documents for vetting by the Ministerial Vetting committee, and the process has not even begun and guess what??? We found out our park has been reallocated to someone as a Land for mixed use…. The vetting process has not even begun and they already reallocating places in choice areas like Maitama to other people….. where is d fair hearing? What is d point of paying ground rent?

We have been in that park since 2007, we planted the trees there, landscaped and designed the whole place… we have all our bills paid upto this year. Infact when I went to pay the bill, I was told that we had to pay for a New letter of intent which i did in April. When i went back to the department of parks for my receipt, they refused to issue it that accountant was not around. I didn’t complain. Kept going back till they said they could no longer issue it as they have something else coming. On the 7th of July, they started issuing revocation notices to all parks which lot of parks have refused to collect…
This was why Mr Galadima of AMMC came out few days ago to say everyone should go get their letters. They claimed it is becos a lot of people have violated their policies. Meanwhile most of these parks have 30, or 50yrs lease agreements, including us…. We found out they divided our plot and even gave a plot number to d bridge beside us….. we occupy 5338, though the initial allocation was 5338, 5339 and part of 5337…We were told at the Department of Parks that after they vet your park, they will give u a bill for R of O and give u 21 days to pay and if u cant pay the bill they will raise then they offer the place to someone else……
All of these processes have not yet been followed and they already allocated…

We have invested over the years to make our place as beautiful as it looks now. They find it attractive becos it is in Maitama. Who says only the elites can own lands there.
You dont go into a PPP with private companies and they have fulfilled their obligations and you violate your own part….
I want people to know that all they re saying is Lies. They have already begun reallocating parks so obviously they will give u flimsy excuses that you didn’t meet the vetting process.

Additionally one would have expected Mr Lere Olayinka to react circumspectly but he started abusing “A trained journalist will read this document (he posted here) properly and understand that:
- The said land used as a PARK was LEASED to the Abuja Metropolitan Management Agency.
- Abuja Metropolitan Management Agency SUB-LEASED the land to Movis Enterprises.
Now, what is the meaning of LEASE?
It is a contract by which one party conveys land, property, services, etc. to another for a SPECIFIED TIME…
When a property is LEASED or SUB-LEASED to a LEASEE, does the property becomes that of the LEASEE permanently?
When you lease or rent your property to a TENANT, you can no longer take your property back and use it for other purpose(s)?
