Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, has officially defected from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Senate.

Imasuen was one of the seven senators elected in 2023 on the platform of the LP across the country.

He said the move became necessary due to “irreconcilable internal crises and leadership challenges within the Labour Party…”

Senate President Godswill Akpabio read Imasuen’s letter of defection during Wednesday’s plenary.

Imasuen, in the letter, said his decision followed consultations with his constituents and political stakeholders across Edo south senatorial district.
