Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah has publicly backed the National Working Committee (NWC), Board of Trustees (BoT), and Southeast Zonal Executive Committee (ZEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) concerning the party’s ongoing internal crisis.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday after a meeting at the Government House in Enugu, Governor Mbah also expressed support for the upcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025.
Reaffirming his PDP membership, the governor voiced his frustration with the internal disputes, stating he was “simply fed up with the shenanigans that have more or less turned the party into an endless circus.”
He reiterated the Southeast ZEC’s warning that the zone would reconsider its position within the PDP if its demand regarding the National Secretary position is not respected, stressing that the zone’s stand “remains firm and non-negotiable.”
Governor Mbah made these comments after meeting with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, PDP BoT Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara, and Southeast Zonal Chairman Chief Ali Odefa, among other party figures.
