Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that midfielder Eberechi Eze’s £68 million release clause is no longer active.

Speaking after Palace’s goalless draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Glasner revealed the 27-year-old is now under the club’s full control should transfer offers arrive.

Eze has been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with Spurs understood to have opened talks over a potential move. Despite the speculation, the England international started against Chelsea and even had a goal disallowed.

“He was picked because he’s a Crystal Palace player and he’s a very good Crystal Palace player,” Glasner said. “He trained the whole week, so there was no reason not to pick him.”

On the release clause, Glasner added: “I’m quite calm, but I also know we have two weeks to go. Ebs’ clause is gone, so it’s the club’s decision, and we will see what happens.”

Eze, who joined Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020, remains a key figure for Glasner as the transfer window enters its final stretch.
