
A governorship Aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Otunba Olugbenga Obafemi has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Hijrah 1447 AH, the Islamic New Year.
In a statement issued by his media office, Obafemi described the Hijrah which refers to the the migration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Mecca to Medina as a symbol of faith, resilience, and the power of hope in the face of adversity.
“As we mark this blessed beginning, I call upon our Muslim brothers and sisters to remain steadfast in hope and faith,” he said. “The difficulties we face today are temporary, and I believe that with prayers, unity, and perseverance, Nigeria’s future will be brighter.”
Quoting Surah Ash-Sharh (94:5-6), he reminded the faithful that “Indeed, with hardship comes ease,” urging spiritual renewal and devotion as the nation contends with economic and social challenges.
He called for compassion, charity, and unity among Nigerians of all backgrounds, encouraging the faithful to pray for peace and prosperity in Ekiti and across the country.
Obafemi concluded by wishing all Muslims a peaceful and fulfilling Hijrah 1447 AH.
