
An Ikeja magistrate’s court sitting in Ogba, Lagos has ordered the release of Ibom airlines passenger, Comfort Emmanson released following the decision of aviation authorities to discontinue the case against her.
Presiding magistrate, Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge against Emmanson after the police formally withdrew the case.
While Emmanson had pleaded not guilty at her arraignment yesterday, police prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan informed the court that the complainant and the airline were no longer interested in pursuing the matter.
Following the application for the withdrawal of the case, magistrate Salami granted the request and ordered Emmanson’s discharge.
Speaking after her release, Emmanson thanked her supporters but noted that she required medical attention before she can share her full account of the incident.
