The Lagos state government has sealed Dowen College in Lekki phase 1 over indiscriminate waste disposal.
Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this on x noting that the raid was carried out by operatives of the Lagos state environmental sanitation corps in collaboration with the Lagos state waste management authority.
The action followed a video showing operatives of the Lagos state environmental sanitation corps apprehending an unidentified man who claimed to be working with Dowen College for allegedly violating waste disposal rules.
Wahab stressed that the state will not hesitate to take firm action against any institution or organisation that violates state’s waste management regulations.
