Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has responded to the viral video showing him serving food at a recent event in Owerri, Imo State, saying the gesture reflects his lifestyle and not a political stunt.
In a post on his X handle today, Obi said he was surprised the act stirred public attention, adding that he has always maintained a simple life, serving guests personally both as a governor and in private life. According to him, humility is a way of life, not a campaign tactic.
The video, taken during the Jubilee of Hope event, drew mixed reactions, with some critics accusing Obi of using the moment for political advantage.
He, however, insisted that leadership should be grounded in service and simplicity.
