Paris Saint-Germain staged a thrilling comeback to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 on penalties in the UEFA Super Cup after a 2-2 draw in Udine, Italy.

Spurs led 2-0 through Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero before PSG’s substitutes Lee Kang-in (85′) and Gonçalo Ramos (90+4′) forced spot-kicks. The shootout saw PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier make crucial saves after Vitinha’s initial miss, with Nuno Mendes converting the decisive penalty.

The victory marks PSG’s fifth trophy of 2025 and their first-ever Super Cup triumph, a first for any French club.

They now begin the new Ligue 1 campaign on Sunday away to Nantes, while Spurs will turn their attentions to the start of the Premier League season as they take on Burnley at home on Saturday.
