The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) has denied reports claiming Mr Yomi Odunuga has been appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the SGF.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr Segun Imohiosen, described the reports which has been circulating on various online and social media platforms as false and misleading.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the appointment of Special Advisers at the federal level is the exclusive prerogative of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” Imohiosen stated.
He urged the public and media outlets to disregard the unverified claims, which he described as the work of individuals seeking to mislead the public for selfish reasons.
The SGF’s office advised journalists and news platforms to rely solely on officially verified statements signed by the office’s Director of Information and Public Relations.
