
Nigeria’s Super Falcons secured a convincing 3-1 victory over long-time rivals, the Black Queens of Ghana, in an international friendly played in Casablanca on Sunday.
The Super Falcons broke the deadlock in the 34th minute when Chiwendu Ihezuo’s shot took a deflection and found the net. Just before half-time, Asisat Oshoala calmly converted a penalty, doubling Nigeria’s lead.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade extended the advantage to 3-0 five minutes after the restart with a composed finish, solidifying Nigeria’s control of the game.
Ghana managed a consolation goal in the 88th minute when Alice Kusi converted a penalty.
Both teams will now shift their attention to the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria is set to face Tunisia in their opening match next Sunday.
